Life is a series of choices. Sometimes that includes going down a path where you didn't feel you had a choice at all.

You may have chosen a career that made sense at the time, but not so much anymore. You may have had a family commitment you could not ignore. Maybe a role grew around you so gradually you didn't notice how much of yourself you'd organised to accommodate it.

None of this is wrong. In fact, a lot of it is good. Whether you chose it with your whole heart or found yourself carried by circumstances, the reality is the same - in the middle of it all, a few of your Notes probably got misplaced.

Not disappeared. Not abandoned. Just unplayed, quiet; there were other things that needed your attention. The moment asked for a different version of you. That's what living actually looks like; you can't play every Note at full volume all the time.

And yet fullness is still possible. That's the part worth holding onto.

Because this isn't a binary choice. Most people don't need a new life. They just need a few hours in the week that feels true to them.

Even in the midst of a demanding life - a busy season, a chapter that belongs mostly to others - there is almost always room for one small Note. Not a transformation. Not a grand gesture. Just a small, honest expression of something that is true to you.

A conversation that lights you up. An hour that belongs to something you love. A way of contributing just because you want to. It doesn't have to be loud.

Sometimes life opens a door to bigger change. A shift in role, a new chapter, a moment when more becomes possible. When that happens, it's worth walking through.

But most of the time it's quieter than that. It's baby steps. Small shifts. A Note here, a Note there, built into the life you're already living.

That's not settling. That's how Music actually works.

You don't need to play everything at once. You just need to keep playing.

What is one Note you would really love to make room to play?
